Due to a multitude of reasons, we have moved from our old Wordpress platform to a new Shopify platform. There were many problems we have fixed behind the scenes and we hope that the management of this updated solution simplifies our life significantly. We have a few things to discuss right off the bat.

• User accounts were not transferred. We understand this is a bit of an inconvenience; but it was not even an option. Over the years there are many actors that wander through the internet looking for ways to wreak havoc. One thing we noticed and fought, but never understood, was the incessant need to create bogus accounts. Whether it was bots or humans from another country, they created tens of thousands of bogus accounts. To the point that 90% of the accounts on the old platform were not genuine users/customers at all. Also, we are now sitting on top of the Shopify system which handles account access and security themselves to ensure complete protection of user accounts and access.
• The Early Reserve System was not ported over. Mainly because it would take hundreds of developer hours to program it on the new platform. But also because it had become mostly unused. In its heyday we were getting special factory orders of knives from Great Eastern Cutlery, lionSTEEL, Viper Cutlery, etc. It was very handy in getting peoples names on products early so that we could guarantee them a knife well before they hit the website. We don't really foresee getting any SFO's going forward other than a GEC run maybe every couple years; and they are much smaller than what we were once allowed. We will probably implement something similar, but much simpler to manage in the future.
• Payment systems have expanded greatly on the new platform. Pretty much any payment method except crypto is accepted on our new platform.
